That Dance

It felt as if it was just me and you.
Nobody else in that room but us two.
You holding me in your arms, dancing with me.
Like nobody else could even see.
That dance seemed like it lasted forever.
But now it seems like never.
You and me an unlikely pair.
Our differences we didn't care.
Then you took me close to you and kissed me on the lips.
Your hands sliding down me reaching my hips.
We walked out hand in hand.
Now that seems gone just like a word in the sand.
I wish you were here again, just to be with.
So our relationship didn't seem like such a myth.
I love you with all of my heart,
and I wish we never had to part.
