Poetic Demise

by MyHalozChokinMe   Dec 2, 2012

Shuffling through the pages
of time immemorial-

Running the tips of my fingers
over maculations left by
antique tears-

Feeling the corrugations left
by a pen that brandished
acrimonious idioms-

Curriculum vitae chronicled,
transcribed with ease...

Bewildering bedlam-
A masochistic assault on ingenuity.
Fixated on vellum, pristine,
quill lies untouched...

Musing-
Repugnance and stupefication share
equal space in gray matter.

Biting my bottom lip, analyzing
the series of events that have
led to my poetic demise, I
breathe a sigh of
resignation...

Stonewalled-
Consumed by love.

Once fluent in jaded sarcasm,
my native tongue is lost and

I cannot write.
