Back Again

by Edgar Jones   Dec 3, 2012

My breath escapes me
As the rivers steady flow
Your eyes just break me
With that golden little glow
Please accompany me
In this lovely, wholly night
But don't disappoint me
For I don't want to fight
The voices and shadows
That lurk within my mind
Like eclipses and rainbows
Supernatural, yet so kind
The caged doves escape
As they begin to flutter
Waiting for you to speak
Scared that I may stutter
Confidence betrays me
During this critical moment
But please don't leave me
Beautiful, genuine woman
