Smoke

by Thomas   Dec 4, 2012

Sun is shining
traffic passing by
like the clouds above

Temperature so low it's freezing
People racing to get inside
Some to the point of wheezing
But I feel good and feel no urge
to join the race due to emotional surge

My breathing is steady,
calm but always ready.
Smoke leaving my mouth and nose
giving you and idea of the fire
that burns within me

A fire that keeps you warm
while you lay next to me
It makes my chiseled body
radiate good vibrations
straight into your heart, soul
and the magic spot
in between your quivering loins.

I loved how you described the surroundings in details it aided in delivering the picture you wanted the reader to see. Although the outside was freezing and cold still you were burning with fire from the inside. The contrasting here made the poem so powerful.

    Great piece T :)

Oh mercy.... what a sensual poem this is!!

To me this piece makes me see a man.. standing on a corner.. smoking a cigarette... and his gaze for a woman is so strong, that just in the look itself.. makes her quiver in a sensual way... this is my take on this piece and I LOVE IT...

First stanza: Nice imagery for such few words. Clouds are moving in the same pace as the traffic.

Second: It's cold and people outside on the sidewalks are rushing to get to their destinations for some kind of warmth... yet you aren't in any hurry because of surge of lust in your body at the moment. Kind of reminds me of a couple getting hot and heavy in a back alley somewhere at the spur of a moment, haha.

Third: I love this stanza! How usually when you are able to see your breath outside, you are freezing... yet you are saying it's the fire inside of you, a passion waiting to escape. Lovelovelove!

Ending: I agree with Luce that I'm glad it didn't really go explicit... your word choice made us know exactly what was happening without it being too naughty.

    Very nice write, Thomas! :)
