Message From the Nest

by Larry Chamberlin   Dec 7, 2012

What can I say to you
that has not been rendered
in many tongues by many dads
with no less heartfelt plea?

Know that I am here
whenever you wish
for whatever you need
if I must move the stars.

Fly into the world
make your own way
but you have home here
to fall back into safely.

Don't reach for me
as a crutch instead
of flitting boldly
along your own path.

But know that home,
this place you're from,
does not require you
to earn your entrance.

Fly into the cosmos
explore and conquer
establish new worlds
show me your success.

Beautifully written poem Larry, as only a great father and poet could pen. Nice :)
