Have You Ever Been Virtuous?

by King II   Dec 8, 2012

Have you ever been virtuous?
Have you ever been strong?
Have you ever experienced
like you're always wrong?
Have you ever felt like you're unworthy
to those who said you're such really?
Yet felt that for the Infinite
it's what you should be?
But that He loves you always,
that you are rewarded by the Divine
and not by men, for their judgments
of who you are never define.

Have you ever loved,
out of your compassion,
those who showed not even the slightest mark
of their gratitude and recognition?

Have you ever felt so exhausted
of doing something in all's behalf
yet you're not appreciated
but still felt satisfied enough?

Have you ever achieved a thing
that brought much delight in you,
but gave it anyway to others
because they need it more than you do?

Have you ever tried to be very generous
not because you had plenty
but because you knew how it felt
to have nothing and to be empty?

Have you ever placed in the midst
of something that went wrong
where you saw who faulted it
yet blamed not, but fixed it all along?

Have you ever forgiven someone
who caused your deepest wound,
even for the foolish thing he's done,
without him asking he be pardoned?

Have you ever kept silent
despite your need of defending
your reason, and what meant
the all-done misconstrued thing?

Have you ever been placed at the lowest,
seeing others high and up
yet knew your life the merriest
and felt you're at the top?

Have you ever done the noblest deeds
by doing all you could so keen
for all who breathed amidst their needs
and did such act unseen?

Have you ever experienced being inly destroyed
and yet thought not of vengeance
but of truth that pain isn't void-
that suffering proceeds acceptance?

Have you ever been virtuous?
Have you ever been strong?
Have you ever experienced
like you're always wrong?
Have you ever felt like you're unworthy
to those who said you're such really?
Yet felt that for the Infinite
it's what you should be?
But that He loves you always,
that you are rewarded by the Divine
and not by men, for their judgments
of who you are never define.
