Dark Secrets

We all hold things close to our hearts,
Never telling anyone we have silenced lips,
Secrets so innocent or secrets so evil,
They are ours so let us keep them without the world knowing.

Some secrets are simple like i didn't break those,
Some are like i'm pregnant how will people know?
Others could be i'm in debt will i ever got out?
Some can be stupid and be done without.

Other people have things buried deep down,
Scared to let them out don't want to make a sound,
Secrets like forbidden love or harmless crushes,
Strange ones like i didn't hide in the bushes.

Yet some secrets are best left unheard,
So terrible they break the lives of the people so close,
Soon turn you into societies ghost,
They turn their backs on you for what you have done.

Your secrets will consume you,
Turn you into the things you hold back,
Darkness consumes the secrets and soon you too.
