The Recluse

by Jacob M Parnell   Dec 10, 2012

I find peace in the quiescence,
Never alone when you have oneself.

Thought is my companion.
Conniving and destructive,
A temptress who never rests.

Tied to tradition,
Superfluous superstition,
Redundant repetition.

I've escaped this fate.

Forgo the formalities,
Abandon all ambition.

Before it becomes too late...
