Shadows of love

We love
We hate
We fall in love
We fall in hate

Tell me baby, how was it like?
Loving me to the core,
Sweetening my bitter days,
Flavored emptiness,
Kissing my pain away,
Hugging my soul to produce
an unerasable smile on my face..

That's right. You don't remember
because you're not sure!
Because when I tried to hold on,
I realised I was standing with wet feet
on a small portion of liquid metal.

No! You do not get to tell me you're not sure!
Not after everything we've been through,
Not after what we shared.

You do not get to treat me
like a breath of fresh air
that once gave you comfort but is
now making you cold.

I never thought you would use me
in this heartbreaking way,
but I guess that's life, right? I mean after all,

What does it take for a
ten-year-old kid
To believe in santa?

A simple fake hope of
a precious gift needed.

    Sonia baby, has my attitude rubbed off on you? LOL! I LOVE THIS! YES! Poetry that is "in your face" is my kind of writing! I absolutely adore it when there is an attitude, a tone, in this poem that makes the readers automatically take your side without hearing the other...

    I can sense a lot of frustration in this poem. It described the flaws of this relationship and how they hurt you and let you down. I liked the interpreatation of Santa and the child, with the gift as the main point of it.

    Nice poem. I really like the first few lines. Well actually, I liked all of them but the beginning was, lets say, my favorite if we can call it that way. Good, really good.
