Animal Freedom [Double-Rengay - Collab]

by Khalid M Darwish & Amreen   Dec 10, 2012

Loaded Noah's Ark -
Animals and birds, a trust
hanged in his neck.

Pinch self to truth. Now God
proposes, man disposes.

Animal species -
killed or left captivated
just for fun and greed.

Deprived of basics -
their freedom's exploited,
their value ignored.

Unless action is taken,
rare types become endangered.

Their non-existence
will affect the food cycle
and ecosystem.

Part of solution -
compensate their lost freedom,
away of prison.

Empathizing their status
cease the contact barrier.

Natural reserves -
protect them from extinction
as a replacement.

And a word to share -
liberalize animals,
A right which they own.

A way to free them again,
for what was wild should be freed.

As cages are meant -
for those who are guilty and
not for innocent.

An exceptional topic you delved into in this poem.
Loved it! I love reading nature and animal poems. It just stirs this fulfillment in my heart and makes me exult. That's one of my favorite themes.
Its good to see you wrote a collab with Amreen, how inspiring.

I love how you started the poem by incorporating the archaic teachings; Biblical and Islamic. That gave the poem a degree of magnitude and piousness. And it also tells us how imperative it is to consider the subjects conditions.

You bought to surface about all the travails faced by animals on earth. Subjected to diverse torment because humans have high precedence amongst Gods creations. So man tends to forget we're suppose to be the caretakers of these animals. Due to such carelessness and negligence some have gone extinct and others without coming up with a protection culture that'll sustain and revive their lives, they'll cease to exist.

Providing them with habitable biosphere is a way of curbing the problem not subjected to unfavorable habituation.

I enjoyed reading this and its a breathe of fresh air.
    Keep churning great pieces together.
God bless your heart for been empathetic to animals!

I like this and those who speak for those that cannot speak for themselves. Very clever in the first two stanza and overall well done!

I really loved the message here and animals, for the majority should be left to roam freely in their own domain. Having said that...I was disappointed that there were no animals in a recent circus that visited Perth. I know they are no longer allowed but....it just didn't seem the same as my childhood memories....I loved the elephants for example...huge creatures that could perform so well...had me captivated.

Also....visiting a zoo...I still love that. The animals are looked after and it educates children so...I don't see any real harm there but...I do understand that...in general, they should be free. Nice topic....enjoyed!

*Note ....now I understand what happened yesterday. I read Amreen's poem first and commented then went to your account to leave the same comment but I didn't realise you had it listed twice....just looked at the title and thought it was yours....sorry about that. Unfortunately I can only vote once on a poem (which doesn't really seem fair to me when it's a collab) so....Amreen had already got my vote.
