Mother and Baby's Illness (Villanelle)

by Khalid M Darwish   Dec 10, 2012

Nothing can emulate mother's sadness
When seeing baby totally diseased
Nothing bothers her like baby sickness

Now this can deprive her from happiness
Whereby she becomes all the time displeased
Nothing can emulate mother's sadness

But her baby can increase her madness
Costing her three hours just to be appeased
Nothing bothers her like baby sickness

She feels as her heart has got no calmness
She's unable to make baby's pain eased
Nothing can emulate mother's sadness

Her baby used to break her loneliness
but now made her upside down since he sneezed
Nothing bothers her like baby sickness

Now she prays to get her baby's gladness
where all baby's problems will soon get squeezed
Nothing can emulate mother's sadness
Nothing bothers her like baby sickness
