Inch through life A creature below notice Below standards And Below beautyJust to survive We grapple We hide We climb We existUltimately Our world goes blackThe gentle white cotton Blinds, binds, and mutes The outside universeNow it's only us And our cuddly darkness' It must be over ' This life of survivalFor why else would There be comforting darkness A delightful abyssThen the cotton falls to pieces Blinding beams shoot into my worldWill the light blind me? Was I blind before? The rainbow binds my world now The abyss was finite And I'm not as I knewI'm a beauty I have wings I'm meant to flySo me, this wonderful me So new So TrueAs I fly Toward sky so blueNo cotton walls to contain No comfort to falsify Only freedom not deniedI'm a senseless, defenceless Invincible, individual Butterfly
