The Magician and the Queen

by yogi73   Dec 17, 2012

Said the moon
to the Magician
in the quiet of the dark
to seek his Queen
to follow his heart

Foolhardy Magician
departed from the little two
and the gracious one.
and slid on a moonbeam of light
into the still
the still of the night.

His journey he feared, should
he fail his plight.
But the Magician
was creative and conjured
a spell of moonlight.

He begged of the moon,
Show me my Queen!
Show me my love!
But the moon was quiet
quiet above.

Alone he went forth
alone and unbound.
The Magician encountered
warriors and poets, but
his beloved Queen, unfound.

Seek your Queen
said the moon
in the still of the night.
It was what the moon
always told the Magician
always
every night.

This is a magical little verse. I loved the unusual use of ryhme here it made the poem flow beautifully. As for the story well, love is very elusive but sometimes, after we've journeyed near and far trying to find it...it's there right under our noses and we wonder why we took so long to see it.

    This is well.....MAGICAL!

Finding that true love which seems to elude our
eyes and another way I see it, is like falling for someone's words and going after a dreamless dream...just my interpretation. All in all it leaves the reader with a yearning heart...take care :)
