OMG Andrea, this was beautiful, I just said that your pieces had been a little on the sad side of late and then I saw this and I smiled, there was that little glimmer of darkness but the beaut and the imagery just overshadowed that and I really saw this older guy, in the field, between the wheat, resting on a tractor, looking to the sky and asking for a break, asking to be forgiven, asking to be changed, and it was really moving.

I am in total awe and total shock of the way this made me feel, it was just beautifully penned.

The whole thing was just jaw dropping perfect!

This reminds me of a poem you wrote before, butIcan't remember which one. There's a feeling it holds that hits my heart.
    Really awesome job. Perfectly written:)

I've been reading this on and off since you posted it wondering if there is a deeper meaning to it and...although I think there is...I haven't quite grasped what it is...(I'll keep trying though haha)

My first thought took me along the path that this was two separate parts of a life...maybe yours maybe not...the first part was when you had hope but..very quickly it was taken away for some reason. The second part I'm not sure about..

    A farmer of forget-me-not
    ^^^
this line is the real one that has me pondering...is it a metaphor?...it's such an intriguing line for me.

There's more to this poem than I can fathom Andrea and...I do love this type of poetry as you know....I'll come back to this one I'm sure :)

    Duuudeeeee..what..is ...thisss! LOL
OMG..I seriously adore this write...I like how I read it once, and I get the literal version of this poem and think and picture the farm land and the sad farmer, then when you read it a second time, you get a seriously different version and you can analyze what this metaphor is portraying....How do you do it? Write for years and still come up with new metaphors..gah! I loved this..faves!
