Devils In Disguise

by Baby Rainbow   Dec 20, 2012

Every so often I was sent a miracle
in which I took a chance to trust.
Believing they would rescue me
and on them I could rely.
A fool I was too many times
for they were devils in disguise,
chasing after my innocent heart
and sucking it bone dry.
Nothing is ever as it seems
not even an angel's wings.
Sometimes desperation blinds you
from the demon's eyes.
So many miracles have burst into flames,
incinerating my soul.
A fool I was too many times
to believe I deserved any better.
At least I learned that miracles
are just devils in disguise
and now I know the trick is
to look right into their eyes.
