The Morning Sun

by Baby Rainbow   Dec 20, 2012

You gave me pills I couldn't swallow
and you forced them down my throat.
You held me down onto the bed
until the poison reached my blood.
They made my body weaker
and my mind turned into blur.
I had no strength to fight you
but my eyes were screaming out.
Shortly after, I'd grow so weak
that I couldn't stay awake.
The last thing I remembered
was you taking off my clothes.
The next thing I remembered
was the morning sun waking me up.

A searing pain shot through my body,
a feeling I knew so well.
I wish I could turn back the time
and find your magic pills.
I wouldn't disobey commands
when you ordered me to swallow,
I would take the bottle from your hands
and swallow them like candy.
The last thing I would remember
would be the panic in your eyes.
But never again would I have to remember
the morning sun waking me up.

This is the second poem of yours that I've read, Saffie.
Still, this is almost the greatest I've read. But I love the previous one. Keep up the great job, hun!

Oh wow Saffie, this poem twisted and turned to a point I didn't think itd take....The contrast between what happened in the first stanza and what could have happened in the second was awesome..

The story is increibly sad, however I love what you did with this, how you incorporated the title, how you described how you'd willingly take the pills in an attempt to end your life just so you didn't have to go through that again...so interesting...

hoping this is just a random write and nothing serious.
    Well done!
