Tears Of Empathy

My heart is crying silent tears
because it feels your pain.
I wish I could offer you comfort
that would soothe the ache inside.
Although right now we are apart
I can hear your crystal tears.
Each time they drop down from your eyes
they land upon my heart.
I cannot bear the thought of you
holding all that pain inside.
To watch you drown in your own tears
which I cannot save you from.
The only thing that I can do
is tell you I am here.
I am holding you close
and wiping your tears away.
I'll stay beside you for as long as it takes
and hold onto your hand.
And inside I'm crying silent tears
because I cannot stop your pain.
