Salt and Pepper

by Maple Tree   Dec 25, 2012

Mixing somber rain
with the dark edge of
lonely,
leaves me tasteless.

Feverishly searching
for a spice of life,
drowning tears
in pools of thoughts.

Formations of my
emotions are merely
clouds, taking the
long journey to
midnight and beyond.

The salty truth
of my ageless soul
levitates
when the whispers
of your peppery,
shadowy smile,
intertwine in
a nightly
embrace.

Peppery smile and the salty ages of the soul. brought an spice into life. I wondered what was the relation to the title and I now see it. It's warm, at least that's how I felt when I finished reading this piece.

Great! Sleep usually resets my mind when the night and emotions come together to taunt my thoughts.
