It's like a storm of mixed emotions and sadness felt deep in the soul.. I loved the last stanza where you incorporated the smile.

Great! Sleep usually resets my mind when the night and emotions come together to taunt my thoughts.

Peppery smile and the salty ages of the soul. brought an spice into life. I wondered what was the relation to the title and I now see it. It's warm, at least that's how I felt when I finished reading this piece.
