One Night Stands Don't Mend Broken Hearts

So I decided to read some of your stuff and this got me intrigued because of the title.
And as I thought I was not let down as this is truly beautiful piece and so elegantly written.

I know I love you
because
the worst part of your day
becomes the best of mine,
while I lie with you
and you confide in me your frustrations.

I know I love you
because
your hopes and dreams
become my prayers at night.
And in the silence of the dark
I ask God to concede your deepest desires.

I know I love you
because
your sadness and confusion
becomes my helpless attempt
to do whatever it may take
so you'll know everything will be okay.

A lovely opening. I feel myself nodding here because no matter what our hardships are when we truly love somebody we will give our all (no matter how much effort it takes) to make them know everything will be ok.

I know I love you
because
your happiness and joy
becomes the smile on my face.
Knowing that you want to share
the best moments of your days with me.

Again, I am nodding because no matter how we feel, when we love someone, their love for us and our love for them keeps us smiling.

I know I love you
because
everything inside your eyes
becomes everything I've never felt before.
I never knew love had a form-
it's smoothed onto the skin of your lips.

This is beautiful and it is such a wonderful feeling to know how this person make you experience love.

This is lovely. I have nothing else to say about it other than I love the way you have given "because" its own line in each stanza.

Part of me wants to pick this apart and comment on every stanza but I will not. This is such a sweet poem, that's beautifully crafted.

The first stanza is my favorite, it shows how much you care for this person even when they are unhappy and you that you listen. Most people nowadays don't listen, it's hard to find which shows a great part of your personality. (:

Oh, one little thing. The title should have a ' in don't. Sorry, couldn't help myself.

This is such a lovely, plain and honest poem. When someone makes you feel this way there is no need to wrap it up in flowers and bows....you simply love them...warts and all. Very nice message in this verse.
