Soul Searching

by Maple Tree   Jan 1, 2013

Black coal sizzles
upon rocks of uneven
thoughts, feeling blue
within clear waters,
I reside in the words
that filter deep
from a soul that
wonders;

Here and there-

Nomad gypsy
in the heart of
a native, settling
down has never
felt so good,
but the ages
of twisted
reality,
come to call
from time to time.

I write for a soul
that drowns in
sorrow, but
breathe's light
from the top of
a cave dwellers
peace.

Delicately, I transform
my inner being,
to become a
woman, who truly
believes in herself,
but would give it
all away for others....

When I started reading this at first I thought of native american indians for some reason...maybe because you mentioned nomadic gypsy? It gave me a sense that, even if you wanted to set down some roots, perhaps you were never able to.

The second half made me reconsider my first thoughts because you speak of self discovery but...in the end I think they are both linked. The experiences have made you who you are today in the end. Very thought provoking write!

This write, to me, shows that you have truly grown into the person I always knew you could be... a giving, settled down native gypsy with a heart that not only beats for itself but for others as well... this is a very inspiring piece Andrea!
