The Devil's Seed

You planted in me years ago,
an evil seed that grows inside
and becomes a part of me.

It contains ingredients
of a powerful curse
for those brave enough to get near.

One simple touch of human contact
releases the poisonous oils
which then seep through my skin.

Like a lethal injection,
it is deadly and unstoppable
once the connection has been made.

It makes for such a lonely life
to have this evil seed inside
when your heart is full of love.

To touch the ones you love so dear,
would risk their lives and put their
innocent souls in danger.

And so in solitary confinement
my heart must live alone,
in order to protect the ones it loves.
