That Key

I hold in my heart
A key to the heavens above
Where God and Spirit meet
When mind and soul come apart

When life is finally done
And there’s one place left to go
You take that key to the heavens above
So God can let you in his home

The home of imaginative wonders
Of clouds, suns, and moons
And only you know, deep down in your soul
That your spirit is finally full

Keeping your spirit alive
Through Gods wondrous eyes
You may have left this earth
But your spirit never dies

I believe in after life
Once you’ve left reality
And gone far up in the clouds above
So God can surround you with all his love

Someday that day will come
When I have to use that key
And on that day, I’ll know it’s done
When my soul and spirit can be set free
