Nite Owl

"Nite Owl"

The Nite Owl Coos,
about to take flight.
Breathes in again the mysterious night.

Eyes open wide,
Lock safe turn and focus.
Loosens grip angle slip bullet cock dive.

Splits the Air,
like a silent scream.
Velocity races feathers ripple tearless eyes squint.

Pristine Forest Floor,
Prequel to prey.
Leaves leap twigs twist boulder buckling shockwave.

Maelstrom Wind,
Aura hunts destruction.
A torrent of turrets stabbing self-defense.

Phantom emerges,
Pulls up just in time.
Leaving behind one less furry soul at a time.

Rodents disperse,
Fowl climbs back to heights.
Rats race in fear back to their place.

Owl looks down,
Tears mammal flesh with face.
Staring motionless Trail of Terror left in its wake ...
