Short but expresses my sentiments about the morning before the day begins for all. That is the time I call my solitude time. Well done.

I like this sentiment emphasising the morning basis for most people. At the same time you show that this is also a moment where things havent gone wrong yet, and nothing cant harm this beautiful morning.

Reminds me of a poem by Sonya Jones entitled "in the morning":

    there's
    this golden moment
    when the sun
    licks through the gauze
    fluttering at my window
    warming my eyelids to opening

    this golden moment
when I'm not yet awake enough
    to remember
    that there are things
    I would rather
    forget.

-- i don't wish to compare because your poem showed character and feeling. It's almost rejoicing and if it were only quiet right now (as I read) then I trust I may hear the sounds of birds singing. Just not a fan of "let nature have her way" due to it's vagueness and the last line since it seemed force and uncharacteristic to the poem. How does feeling unsoiled, unsullied come before the feeling of "winning". Yes, must have been inserted to fit the rhyme.

Nice short piece though, but with compared to Sonya's poem, just a food for thought on how to further create something with this one.

My favorite time of the day is morning... You captured it beautifully within this elegant piece.. Short poetry that explains all that needs to be said in just a few lines..

"nature having her way" <---- this is the heart of the poem for me...

you captured the beauty of nature, how she sings in the morning... its a breathtaking piece...

I can imagine your relaxed beautiful morning which somehow doesn't last for long & then the marathon begins with kids & house chores. Guess that's what makes the first cup of coffee so special :)

    Beautifully written.

all the best & take care

The poem is short and simple.

But here is the cherry on top of the Sundae.

    Its Ireland!

Imagine the Irish skies, green pastures, the dew resting upon the grass, now imagine walking bare feet on the moist grass, a pancake on the table, coffee, etc etc. If one has faith, than may be just may be they could encounter a leprechaun. Oh and we talk of heavens. Such irony.

You know, I might invade Ireland after all.

Lovely little write, Olwin. It is lovely to wake up to the crispness of a fresh new day, isn't it? It doesn't matter what happened yesterday, nature somehow can wash it clean......and though this new day may too become "sullied"....there is always tomorrow.
All the very best and well written
