Preaching to the Choir

by MyHalozChokinMe   Jan 10, 2013

He preaches moderation from
his gold-encrusted altar,
in his lavish robes of purple,
in his speech he does not falter.

He preaches money's evil, that
the good are those who lack.
Yet, he drives to church each
Sunday in his silver Cadillac.

He preaches to be modest,
not to boast or flaunt or strut.
Yet, his house stands several
stories tall, marble pillars
line the front.

Time and time again he states
our hearts are black with sin.
Yet, he's preaching to the choir
when the hypocrite is him.
