GoodBye My Love

by StormyStar   Jan 11, 2013

Laced up my Nikes,
flipped my hoodie over my head,
Walked out that door,
forgot everything you ever said,

I've learned a lot from you though,
like you can't break me unless I let you,
And something's are promised,
but I know they won't ever come true,

Some of the best people have been
broken, used, and cheated.
That gives me motivation, and makes me keep moving,
I will never be defeated.

You can't hold me back anymore
because that was all you were good for.
You won't ever hear from me again
as soon as I close the door.

Love the strength in this, so much raw emotion but a real attitude brimming just beneath.
It is very pacey which ties in with the theme of the whole piece.
Your rhyming scheme is excellent, works wonders for this piece and is really natural.
The first stanza is brilliant, you have trimmed the fat away leaving just the powerful words that move the story forward at lightning pace. No flannel just straight to the point and hard.
Love the sarcasm in stanza two, you seem to sympathise yet imediately snap into realization that it is 'so over'
Stanza three is the emergence of real strength of character. This is where you evolve fully into a single minded person.
The final stanza is very fitting, I don't think it could be any more final.
    Clever piece.
