Medusa

by MyHalozChokinMe   Jan 11, 2013

You are no more than a meaty center, a
block of electricity at the core of me.

You've been a foe; freezing
up and changing me to winter.

Internal Medusa, you have
turned me to stone.

But, my bloody, beating drum, it is you
that conceives the hammering, the dull
ache of all my nerves suddenly exposed
to a well-turned phrase or a gentle
show of kindness...

This is what I cannot live without.

A very clever use of medusa. Your opening lines hit like a stone to the chest. It's like yin and yang. Although this medusa is cold and unfeeling it balances out the more vulnerable side. As clever as always :)
