Mother Tree

by Maple Tree   Jan 13, 2013

She drowned in sorrow
as snow caps fell from
lifeless twigs of a
dying mother.

I can only hope
to birth a seedling
half as beautiful
as her spirit..

Does the lady on the
hill remember
the tears I buried
within her roots?

The leaves of her
locks were emeralds
flowing while she mated
with a passing breeze.

I knew her beauty,
a soul knows the whispers
of a joyous beginning,
in death there is life,
her legacy shall sprout
in the lives of rooted
souls, as long as
a heart can hear
her whispers....

This is true beauty Andrea! I really don't know what to say like Chelsey too, you leave us breathless. Such a precious write, I felt every word flowed into the next and a voice was being heard...I like how you mentioned the word legacy, because to me that's a very powerful and moving concept. Her legacy will be remembered, and her soul rooted within so many spirits who will listen to her. This reminded me of a parable because you illustrate these principles, these beautiful truths, especially the bigger picture of death being life.

    Take care :]

Oh my gosh.....I think..I have found my favorite nature piece from you...this is incredibly beautiful. I mean seriously, I find this to be perfection....I have this urge to break it down stanza by stanza, but my tongue feels tied because over all, everything about this is just flawless....Adding it to my faves, this one got to me.
