by Poet on the Piano   Jan 14, 2013

Between my first and three hundredth hello,
I could still never quite land my feet in a place
for you.

Beyond mountains, nestled in tunnels where
the lights know nothing of traffic and each shadow
depicts another inch of rain...
that will follow us.

Somehow, will you reveal yourself while
I am here among the forests, rivers, bridges
all leading somewhere.

My heart ticks like a bow and arrow
caught 'twixt a masquerade with no gravity,
air stagnant, nature moving within us,
and all I want is to see you without
questions.

May I take your instrumental heart and
let it be my center?

Oh Maryanne...your poetry just does something to my poetic bones like you wouldnt believe. I adore it so much!!

Beyond mountains, nestled in tunnels where
the lights know nothing of traffic and each shadow
    depicts another inch of rain...

^^ I only dream of being able to write that beautifully...the way you just phrased your words here creates an absolutely vivd image!

Somehow, will you reveal yourself while
I am here among the forests, rivers, bridges
    all leading somewhere.

^ Just wondering though, since you said will you, should there be a question mark? Or was it a statement that should say you will..I wasnt sure how to read that.

And that ending...girl, I dont even know what to say. Astounding. Truly, truly is. So incredibly creative...your heart the bow..his heart the dang center of the target...what the hell...who thinks of that! Im just so overwhelmed with the feeling of two hearts colliding right now. Epic! :)

    love it, love you

If the site would let me nominate this, I most certainly would! Gorgeous piece of writing, I've truly missed reading. I see your heart blossoming as always. I felt so much emotion in this, it seems as though you're waiting on the most opportune moment and hoping this person comes around. Hold onto these feelings, I think they are definitely something that could be mutual. Well done!
