Beast In The Mirror

by frozen rose   Jan 14, 2013

I look in the broken mirror
But only see a demon
Consumed by hate and fear
Before the glow of dawn

I walk away from my reflection
No longer able to hide the tear
Stumbling to no specific direction
My destination is unclear

Why does this acid fall from my eyes?
It burns and dissolves my skin
As I scratch my face and cry
Releasing the agony within

I am a monster, a horrible beast
That no reflection can hide
The mirror shatters into pieces
In disgust, I bleed and cry

I stay in dark, lonely isolation
In fear of myself, of the disfigured face
That could destroy any sensation
Of a happy, peaceful place

So in my misery I drown
Alone in the eerie darkness
Forever falling down
Stuck in this hopelessness

A real dark one. The rhyming makes everything sweet to the ear, sweet scary or something like that. All in all I loved it. Great poem.

I like this it is hard too look in a mirror and not like what is looking back

'A million shards of broken mirrors
    will reflect only distorted figures'
