Two-thousand and Thirteen

by Blood of a Lion   Jan 15, 2013

Done for club Challenge
---------
Two-thousand-and-thirteen,
Just another year in a debacle of more years,
We look back,
And look at of the ages before us.

The Middle Ages,
The Age of Rome,
And years that had no significance,
To the actual beholder.

I don't believe in a thus wintry present,
Or a dream.

I worked in a frozen temperature for my present,
I got sick for my wintry present.
I dreamed a dream,
But that dream is nothing more but a dream.

So what is I ask, is 2013?
Its just another year for you,
Yes you,
To look back on and say...

I was how old?

This is a great symbol for the passing of the new year. A sense of nostalgia for the old, eagerness for the new, and anxiety for both. Good work.

dude, this stanza stood out for me. I just loved how you struggled for your present life and now you are living it. This poem is amazing and a remarkable piece too.
