Love this quite littel poem, it is very introvert and hugs my soul

Ok so I wasnt going to break this apart because it was so personal but then I think it really deserves it because although it is very short and simple, it holds so much more than meets the eye! ( to me )

I sheltered you
as a mid winter's
hush consumed
my whispers.

-What I got from this is how you protect someone and comfort them and be strong, while inside your pain is raw but yet only gets released as whispers which are then carried away with the wind because you feel it is being weak to share them. Like you have to be the strong one and show no weakness.

Thoughts were
left unsaid in
darkest of nights,
as I lay dormant
in the coldness
of your abandoned
sweater..

- this speaks of sadness, loneliness and loss, but also of the thoughts which are consuming your mind because they have no release and so they keep you awake in the night creating more darkness for you .

Take me first,
for I feel the
empty voices
haunting thoughts,

and I can't bare to
live without you

- you end the poem by sharing a part of those thoughts, the part where you want to trade places and the fear of not so much being without them, but the pain of being without them.

It is so very deep and I feel like your heart opened slightly when writing this which I always like to see because you can't trust anything as much as you can trust a pen to be there for you!

This broke my heart, the thought that you'd rather leave life first than live without someone is a deep and sad thought and I know this is personal and I'll keep it short.
The emotion here was evident, and the pain too...
