Silent Hearts

by William Mae   Jan 15, 2013

Silent Hearts

The flower bloomed, inside a heart,
First sprout between friends.
Makes one dream and want what if,
Mid wishes deep within.

The sun will rise but for to set,
Each thought is filled with needs,
This rose growing deep inside,
Stirs this pain in me.

What harm is born from secret love,
Which blooms as buds of roses,
Blossoms in a heart still dark,
Where hidden light transposes.

Transposes in the dreams though brief,
Where soul mates float above,
Traditions, culture, distance,
And finally find true love.

Reality makes my claims t'ward life,
That love deals cards unfair,
And truth lives only in my dreams,
Where our true love is shared.

I stopped by to re-read this again and after reading Angie's comment this write feels so real. If the friendship is strong and true, sometimes it is nice to share things in the heart, get it into the open..makes the friendship even stronger no matter what the situation is.

The title drew me in... friendship to relationship, I think it's a special bond if both feel the same because you know each other so well. This piece is touching because it seems one feels more than the other and is keeping it secret, but why, is it because of different traditions and cultures, are they scared of a long distance relationship or is one or both married to another, there are so many reasons why to keep it quiet... there is no harm in secret love, but why not tell the other, share your dreams who knows they may feel the same... this is what I feel when I read this piece. I love the word choices as well and it flowed beautifully. (7)

I enjoyed this, very beautiful story between two friends becoming closer but there is a lot of doubt and insecruties. The belief in the poem is that only this kind of love is alive in dreams, and life has been so unkind in the past that you believe it to be cruel - therefor this love would not be real.

    nice work.
