Snow

The news hit me
when the first snow
decided to fall.
The news was
as surprising
as the snow.
All was as usual
all was good.
But then the news hit
and the snow fell.
Slowly sinking in,
slowly falling down.
But the snow
has no consequence,
no decision to be made
when it's gone.
Life and death
will be hanging
in my hands.
Never again
will I
forget the news.
Never again
will I
enjoy the snow.
So rest now
sweet pup of mine.
Fight the pain and disease
as long as you can.
Stay with me
and watch the snow.
Cause never again
will I
enjoy the snow.

    This is so heartbreaking and touches me so very much. I had a cat that was diagnosed with cancer :(

    Pets are family, it is just as heartbreaking to see him suffer. </3
    Keep writing, dear. It will help your heal in some ways.
