Little Pup

by Thomas   Jan 20, 2013

Young little pup
that's what I was.
Still clean
without notion of loss.
Skies were blue
with a never ending sun.
No longer a zygote,
now someones son.
Blind for a large part,
no teeth and no bite.
Lack of moral compass,
no wrong or right.
Time moved on.
I did not.
Still in my little world,
my own spot.
Locked in dreams and fantasies
little puppy heaven.
Clinging on to happiness,
no reason for leaving.
But sitting in a big dog pen
requires a big dog attitude.
Time for big dog words,
no more platitudes.
Sadly dogs are known for scrapping.
Singles get crushed by packs.
Hard to play poker
when odds are against you in stacks.
Losing is a great mentor
cause you're prepared for the future.
Gives you motivation and strength
to get old enemies neutered.

I loved the message in this piece T, and I also loved the rhyme scheme you adopted in this piece. It all flowed nicely. What I loved the most is this line..

    "Losing is a great mentor"
    ^^
This is so true. To lose is the best way for you to learn. You get to know what it is that you did wrong so you wont fall into that same mistake again.

    Great piece.
Nominated first thing on Monday :)
