Love's lie

I love you, I whispered,
As tears ran down from my eyes,
Knowing that when he would say it back,
It would behold nothing but lies,

Still I desired to have them said,
With the beautiful sound of his voice,
Loving him was my destiny,
It never was a choice,

He forced them out of his mouth,
Knowing that they would never be true,
I could feel my heart breaking,
At the sound of his "I love you"
