Lingual

by Poet on the Piano   Jan 26, 2013

There are no lyrics to the most spiritually
significant words-
rain, drowsy from strange hours of unknown
pavements and night terrors,
yet it still would like to be kissed
and fall from your touch.

little can be explained when there
is no monologue or playwright to
its subtlety; for a shadow will pause and
bow over a slick, road of moonshine...
with a heart that is wheezing
uncontrollably.

and we will fall as rain, never comprehending
if we cry or laugh or smile or shake.
every emotion will be felt and soaking
in through each stain from the past.

how I will pray for you like the rain
comes to lull my wayward spirit-
no more anger, frustration, or doubt
will surface in my speech

and eventually, you will merge into my
hands, and we will be holding

the essence of rain.

Maryanne, what is this? Ughh, I dunno how you do it.
This is breathtaking, so beautiful, captures the strange feeling love can give us...and that feeling of being drowned in its presence

    I love this!
