I Believe

by Poet on the Piano   Jan 27, 2013

Jesus, I believe that you are the center of the universe,
the center of my life, and the center of this heart that is
often in strife.

I've stolen from your love, turned you into someone
in my mind who was not my savior. But you are my shield,
and this love is powerful. It cannot be misused.

I believe you will give me my spouse's love
when the hourglass amidst my soul is ready
to know life as love for one another...
and nothing less than that.

I need you, for among my spouse you will
remain, nestled in the hope that tomorrow
will come, as many times as we promise it,
tomorrow will be awaiting us,
whether it is on our earthly bed or our eternal one.

I believe in love at first sight.
I know watching it roll out on film is different
than reality, but it doesn't always have to be.

Love knows no boundaries,
and if I am made to see his clarion eyes,
then God, bring him to me and watch over us
until we rest in your arms.

Just got done watching Les Mis for a second time and it inspired me even more than before.... The love one another and that willingness to sacrifice life for what you know is right...Thank you for reading :)
