Paper Dolls

by Let It Be   Jan 28, 2013

Paper dolls and intense emotions,
Laps of memories put in motion,
Friends can be past.

Rivers of tears,
Floods of fears,
Emotions can never drown.

Platonic acquaintances,
Feathers of patience,
What am I scared of?

Rings of blood,
Secrets hidden in the flood,
The growth of the future is in balance.

Tides of cuts,
Severed wishes must,
Make a wish and hold true.

Dreams of illusions,
Forever in unison,
I will follow through with my promise.

This is a unique piece with a creative point of view. Well done and excellent reach into a deeper part of yourself (compared to some of your other pieces at least).

    Greatly penend.

The way you twist words to create something beautiful from pain and discord is incredible.I love the pun,"paper dolls...tides of cuts severed wishes"the choice of paper dolls for depression and cutting works so perfectly

I was drawn in by the stuttery pace to this piece, I like how the first two lines rhyme and the third is almost tossed in there as an aside. Stanza two is my personal favourite because at first glance it appears that lines 1 and two have the wrong endings. Then we move onto 'feathers of patience' why does this work? What the hell does it mean? Yet it seems so right.
This is why I have picked this poem this week, because it is a jigsaw of strange lines that work so well together and the sum of all of its parts makes a very well written and intriguing poem.

I absolutely love this piece, the flow and the fitting is perfect but the emotion behind it stays evident, love it
