So much power in so little words. Such emotion and just...wow

Love the shape and the darkness.
You have sprinkled a few double meanings here and there to keep us interested.

Finger nails or just plain nails?
Ink of hallucinations conjures awesome imagery.

Is this somebody overcoming an adiction to drugs? Are they using morphine as the substitute?

Or is it used to silence the demons, when we sleep we are at peace, (usually)

To me this poem represents the innocent people suffering through illness which they do not deserve.

It is like the " backs of angels" are being stabbed with nails ( which is the illness ) and causing them tremendous pain and suffering.

I think between the lines in here I am picking up a tone of helplessness, this is where I think the drug comes in. Because through out all of this, the only thing that can take that pain away is the drug, and it is a horrible thing when you cannot help the people you love and have to rely on drugs.

I agree with Darren in that there is a lot of different things we can take fromt his poem, but this was my take on it. I think the hallucinations don't perhaps come from the drug, but perhaps more in the sense of hope and how good days seem to be snatched away when the bad days come and it leads to false hopes some mornings.

I also think your ending line is very important, the silence that you see and hear after this drug has been taking. It is like the only way they are not in pain is to sleep with the help of this drug, therefor you begin to miss them and this silence is what causes emotions like this to come out? A very powerful silence.

Really deep poem and again, in so little words you have created such huge emotion and a little scene in my head.
