AIDS Legend

by Shannon   Jul 1, 2004

She lays there dying
At the age of twenty-two
AIDS attacks her body
What is she to do?

She's not ready
She doesn't want to die
Tears begin to fall
As she tries to say goodbye

She had aspirations
To own her own place
Cheer at a hockey game
With writing on her face

Wish upon a shooting star
Erase her own denial
Fall in love
And walk down the aisle

Prove someone wrong
Chase a wild dream
Raise her family
Make a non believer believe

Slowly she goes
Body, soul and mind
Nothing but a legend
For the kids she's leaving behind
