Unfading

by Poet on the Piano   Jan 29, 2013

I've often wondered myself if sweetness
is the type of velvet voice that will fade-
yet I am hard-pressed to finalize this
truth I feel is being ironed into my veins.
Tenderness knows you and you promised
you wouldn't give up your path to solitude
unless your heart had been captured....
but you don't want anyone but me to touch
it, and for that reason, your sweetness
can never become embers.

    Maryanne, this is beautiful...
I love how short it is yet how deep and powerful it is as well, it wasn't overly simple but it wasn't crammed full of a thousand metaphors and tongue tying words...
it was elegant yet sad, romantic yet subdued...

    This was just beautiful.

I mean really, could you melt me down even more?

This is beautiful!! I like the posed question in the beginning and the fact that you answered it at the end..I always love poems that DONT keep me wondering, because I'm nosey lol.

This is seriously so beautiful because of its simplicity. It didnt need to be drawn out for your point to be made....it was clear how special this person is.

    Loved it!
