Shattering Love

by Bracha   Jan 31, 2013

Sometimes I wonder about love.
Why people chase after heartbreak
After a mirage of beauty,
A castle of shining, majestic possibility
But don't they know
That as soon as it cracks just a little
It collapses into tiny shards of shattered glass
Into a thousand tiny beautiful pieces
And they sparkle in the sun
Throwing rainbows of memories into the air
You run to catch one
Chase to hold it in your arms once more
But when you step on the shattered remnants of what once was,
Hoping to be protected by what used to be love,
They cut you open just the same
And no one is there to kiss away your tears.
