Butterfly Project.

by Natasha   Feb 1, 2013

Have you tried the butterfly project?

The Rules are simple:

When you feel like you want to cut,
take a marker, pen, or sharpies,
and draw a butterfly on your arm or hand.

Name the butterfly after a loved one,
or someone that really wants you to get better.

You must let the butterfly fade naturally.
NO scrubbing it off.

If you cut before the butterfly is gone,
you've killed it.
If you dont cut, it lives.

If you have more than one butterfly,
cutting kills all of them.

Another person may draw them on you.
These butterflies are extra special.
Take good care of them.

Even if you don't cut,
feel free to draw a butterfly anyways,
to show your support.

If you do this,
name it after someone you know,
that cuts or is suffering right now.

And tell them:
"It could help." :)

(P/S: This is for someone I know in this site that is terribly suffering from the death of his special friend, and that leds him to depression and cuts. Dear friend, I really hope you are reading this. Just stay strong, and GOOD LUCK!)

    Wow, this is truly inspirational.
I can see this helping so many self-harm victims. If I were you, I would look into making this happen! Being a motivational speaker with this wonderful idea...seriously. It's a great concept.

    @.@!!!

Natasha, this should be on a poster!

This idea could domino and help so many people...

A butterfly is a very fragile little life.
For someone to ask (draw on) a person with fragile mind set " can you look after my fragile little life (butterfly symbol)"
It portrays trust and a sense of importance... Hopefully giving a person that selfharms reason for hope and light in a dark time.

    Really nice idea missy,

    Its in my favourites :)

    Well penned

I really love this idea and think its a great aid in order to help people going through self harm, I for one had never thought about and I guess it would truly help if that soemone drew it on you and if you were to cut it would be directly hurting them and something they have drawn onto you. I love this idea.
