Precious Time

It may have took longer than what we had hoped
but at last we have found each other. I believe everything
happens for a reason although we do not always find
out why at the time but rather later down the road.
I know in my heart that this was meant to be
and our journey has only just begun.

We have so much years to catch up on
and so many things to do together but this only
makes the time we have together more precious
and I appreciate it all the more.

Although I do look back and think of what
might have been if I was yours from the start,
I do look forward and believe that I am now yours
for the future and this was always the plan.

There is a reason beyond the clouds
for our years of separation but these clouds
have now parted and the sun is shining down
whispering in my ears to make the most
of what we have finally found.
