Bitter Alcohol

by simply southern   Feb 4, 2013

There's a girl who drinks,
bitter sweet alcohol .
Years have passed,
bottle by another bottle .

She wants it all to stop,
but she just can't resist .
Drunk; She'd rather sleep,
than find courage to slit her wrist .

With nights full of pain,
and days full of tears .
To everyone else its another day,
but to her another year .

You'd think she'd stop,
but she doesn't try,
she hates the games,
and just wants to hide .

Its story after story,
Laugh after laugh .
Heartache after heartache,
bottle by another bottle .

Her friends can see her hurting,
So they try to take the pain away.
But she wakes up with a smile,
Like its just another day .

The odor of alcohol lingers through her clothes,
So she attempts to cover it up just enough.
But her desire for alcohol steadily grows,
Weak inside and aching she decides to tough it up.

She thinks the pain is gone,
but nothing has changed .
Bitter alcohol is her first priority .
no love could be exchanged .

She heard her phone ring,
"The alcohol will kill you!", said a friend.
"I wish you could quit drinking."
But her though,"it doesn't matter, this is the end .."

Her lust for alcohol you just could not replace,
no matter if it meant taking her life .
She would rather die than try to live in peace,
To her it was better than just trying to survive .
