Watch a Leaf Fall

by Angie   Feb 8, 2013

Watch a Leaf Fall

did you ever just sit on a park bench
and watch a leaf fall?

they put on a spectacular show...

the one that glides ever so slowly
like the lonely tear drop upon your cheek
or how about the one that flips end to end
like a somersaulting gymnast

there's another that twirls so gracefully
reminding me of a ballerina's pirouette

and in Autumn
when dozens fall at one time
it looks like a kaleidoscope of color

and then you have the one
that's about to land
when suddenly a breeze comes along
and whisks it back into the air

did you ever just sit on a park bench
and watch a leaf fall?

**Thank you Andrea for another title.

You wrote of the beauty of fall and it's leafs that dance gracefully to the ground. Excellent imagery through words.

This was an interesting nature poem Ang...When usualy, nature poems are full of metaphors or heavy descriptions..I felt like this was jumbled thoughts describing what you were thinking rather than describing the sight persay...I enjoyed that!

    Very nicely penned

This is so lovely, it shows how all the leaves fall in different ways and are all different in their colours and how they travel and where they land.

Such a peaceful poem and I can almost hear the wind gently blowing them from the tree.

    Nice work
