Rain Fingers

by Maple Tree   Feb 11, 2013

Rain fingers tap upon tables in a somber morn.

Nervously expecting thunder to bolt across
my mind, in a feverish storm, I tap away
crossed redwood, shaking and stirring'
my cup running over...

Too many times have I consumed
sorrow in the early hours of the day,
clouds roll in, whisking me to knee
dropping, begging for one day of peace.

Rain fingers tap upon tables in a somber morn.

I found this really soothing to read now, it had an element of sadness but it was beautiful and really smooth flowing, and made me think of just seeing something different for a change and seeing the beauty in things you normally wouldn't.

This was one of my favorites. I love the vivid imagery because it seemed to come alive and drew me in. I was nostalgic for me too because I love watching the rain; it's always been my favorite way to take a step back from the rest of the world and examine my life.
