Asking Avery III

by Jad   Feb 14, 2013

Sun kissed eyes reflecting fragile love,
anthems of angels sing above
but dyed in red and cloaked in white.
Avery, this wars is ours we have to fight,
but our will has become so lost
spent all to find but at a cost.

Fade into despair the epitome of desire
fuel hate into the flames of fire
escape the fate we wrote in song
broken apart to whom do we belong?
Avery our hearts bleed without thinking
into this ocean deeper we're sinking.

Surround the lies I painted in deceit,
God knows our only outcome is defeat
so please remember before you die
where your heart truly abides
trace the hierglyphics etch on my soul
Avery what stories lie untold.

I love the questions and the rhyme within the poem the emotions I can feel it in my gut and this poem is just blowing me away with the simple but yet elegant words used and that's something!

I love this last stanza you really do have a way with words and I wonder will you read the one you love poetry? Will your talent affect her like the words affect every poet that reads this poem? who knows and yet it's so beautiful I love how you ended the poem the curriousity in me wants to know what stories weren't told and it's just beautiful and I agree with Sylvia because what if we each have an Avery? God only knows but still beautiful to read. No wait I had an Avery but she died and yes that question people truly asked what stories wern't told but I know them ALL

Great write I hope you write again soon 5/5

More questions and thoughts for Avery. I wonder if each of us has a Avery in our lives that we turn to with these questions or maybe just to be able to voice them to our Avery, gives us the answers or makes us feel better to have them out in the open. Nice write.
